In order to encourage innovative researches in the field of domestic maternal and child’s health, and promote further improvement of the scientific research level of the mother and children’s health, BINC devote itself to providing comprehensive solutions for China’s mothers and children, plans to invest over one million yuan in the near 5 years into the scientific research projects in the field of domestic mother and children’s health, so as to improve the depth and width of the scientific research projects in the industry, and to promote the development of China’s mother and children’shealth.

BINC scientific research funding plan is a comprehensive package of health research projects for public welfare, including BINC foundation projects and women and children’s healthcare funding project. In January 2015, BINC initiated “Biostime Institute of Nutrition and Care Fund” (BINC Fund) formally. The project plans to invest 1.5 million yuan annually for the scientific research funding, gathers application research projects focusing onmother and children’s nutrition, nursing and psychology nationwide, and encourages middle-aged and young scholars in our country who equipped with a certain experiences of scientific research to apply this fund. BINC expert committee is responsible for evaluating the application projects. According to the protocol design and expert evaluation, excellent projects can obtain a maximum fund of 0.2 million yuan. BINC Foundation will carry out the application annually and continue to invest, so as to encourage the localized development of the scientific research.

Early in 2012, Biostime, together with National Center for Women and Children’s Health, China CDC, established “Biostime Research Fund for Women and Children’s Healthcare” (Women and Children’s Healthcare Fund). Currently the fund has invested dozens of women and children’s healthcare projects nationwide, and has produced remarkable scientific research outcomes. Over 20 research articles have been published. In 2015, BINC and national women and children’s center renewed their agreement period to 2019 successfully, and the operating of Women and Children’s Healthcare Fund will continue orderly. In next 5 years, a total amount of 5 million funding will be invested, which focus mainly on establishing a favorable scientific research circumstances in the industry, promoting the research of national women and children’s nutrition and health, publicizing and popularizing women and children’ health knowledge, and improving the scientific research level of the medical staff in the women and children’s healthcare institutions.

Two major public funds of BINC will be invested simultaneously, which will create more conditions for the advanced scientific research projects of mother and children’s health in China, making it become one of the important source for innovative technologies.

At the same time, Biostime will further develop its featured product R&D system on the basis of the above. Biostime will merge the latest scientific research outcomes continuously into the products and service, so as to consolidate the Chinese market, integrate the R&D project resources from Europe and America. It will concentrate on improving and developing the existing product portfolio of Biostime, developing high quality new products forand children, and consolidating the partner relationships with famous third party of R&D institutions. 

Dr. Patrice Malard, the executive director of BNIC and the general manager of Biostime Technology Center, indicated that integrating international technologies, raw materials and manufacturing are the advantagesof Biostime. The Biostime scientific and research funding project encourages localized research and development, and is one of the major strategic layout of the Biostime research and development system. Biostime’s scientific researchand quality control capability has been improved to a new level, which ishelpful for satisfying the high quality demand of Chinese consumers for and providingsafe products for mother and children.
