BINC microbita research platform is a systemic and technologically advanced micro-ecology platform co-established by BINC and Bioforits, asubordinate company of the French Mérieux Group.
Main functions:
1. Carrying out clinical trials
2. Collection, processing, and preservation of biological samples
3. Establishing and managing biobanks
4. Sample testing
5. Product development
The main research fields:
1. The establishment and development of intestinal micro-ecological systems in infants and young children
2. Correlation between intestinal micro-ecology and infant health
3. The micro-ecology and nutrients of breast milk
Four major strengths:
1. Advanced laboratory systems
The labs were designed and fitted based on top-notched international criteria with modernized facilities and auxiliary systems including a clean air-conditioning system, a central control system, a water purification system, a sewage treatment system, and a gas supply system. The labs are equipped with a variety of new models instrument and equipment, such as the Bio-Rad CFX96 fluorescence quantitative PCR, Leica fluorescence microscope, Waters XEVO TQSMicro LC-MS, Agilent 7890B-5977 GC-MS, Thermo ICE 3500 atomic absorption spectrometer, Thermo ICS 5000 ion chromatography, Waters 2695 LC, Agilent 1260LC, with an initial investment of over RMB 20 million.
2. Modules with various functions to support systematic micro-ecological research
The platform consists of a volunteer visiting module and sample collection module, a standard biobank management system, an anaerobic microbiology lab, a biochemistry lab, and a molecular biology lab, which can guarantee the implementation of all-round systematic microbiological studies.
3. Advanced technological platform
The strategic cooperation with Mérieux Group is a guarantee for this research platform to stay in the leading tier in micro-ecological research technology, including key technologies in micro-ecological research such as macro-genomics,fluorescence quantitative PCR, strain separation, anaerobic microorganism culture, in vitro fermentation, etc.
4. Professional exchange
This platform has built upa wide range of connections with top microbial research institutions and experts at home and abroad, and is under the sustained technical support by an expert consultant team.
