Introduction：

Xu Xianming, a chief physician and professor, now serves as deputy director of Maternity Center, director of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and director of Prenatal Diagnosis Center under Shanghai General Hospital Attached to Shanghai Jiaotong University. He is also a master’s supervisor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, deputy chief of National Cooperation Group of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, and member of China DOHaD Alliance Expert Committee. In 2000 Xu started to become an editorial board member of Chinese Clinical Doctor, and in 2003 acted as an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine, Progress in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chinese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics (Electronic Edition), Chinese Journal of Obstetric Emergency (Electronic Edition)andShanghai Medical Journal.

Xu Xianming is mainly engaged in research on the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus. In recent years he has published over 100 academic papers in domestic and overseas academic journals. He wrote a large number of popular science articles,  mainly compiled Practical Obstetric Surgery, Dystocia, The Hospitalist Manual, Zhou's Caesarean Section, Clinical Practice of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, and worked with others to compile Pathological Obstetrics, Modern Obstetrics, Diabetes Mellitus and other professional works.
