In 2013, BINC supported 23 items of mother and children’ s healthcare research projects nationwide, with the total amount of 1.04 millionyuan. The major supported fields are as follows:

1. Pregnancy nutrition and mother and children’s health(including pregnant women, fetus, newborns and infant health);

2. Regular monitoring of pregnant women and fetus development;

3. Appropriate techniques for feeding infants and children(including the study of the components of breast milk);

4. Medical care techniques for premature infants/low-body-weight infants after discharge;

5. Appropriate techniques for the development of children's psychological behavior;

6. Prevention and treatment of commonly seen nutritional diseases in children (including insufficiency of trace elements and malnutrition);

7. Study on the usage of antibiotics and probiotics;

8. Study on the techniques related to the standard of pregnancy healthcare;

9. Study on the techniques related to the standard of childhood healthcare.
